The goal for this Poco Welcome Patio was to increase the curb appeal of the front of the property, while also creating a welcoming entrance to the residence, and a small outdoor living space to enjoy a latte and the morning sun!
This was accomplished by using some of the existing trees but relocating them to open up the entrance while also allowing it to be much more welcoming. The entry patio not only creates this site line but also serves as a very attractive outdoor living space to enjoy the morning sun. A sense of enclosure without blocking site lines was created with the construction of a curved arbour, and curved Brohm planter. Year round colour and interest was also an important objective for the clients and was accomplished with many different types of plant material, as well as the addition of annuals. Massive Basalt columns provide a focal point and add a sense of permanency, as well as specimen Basalt boulders cut into the patio surface, all creating a very unique and inviting front yard living space.
